Christian Exshaw

Christian Exshaw is Managing Director and Head, Capital Markets Trading, Wholesale Banking, with CIBC World Markets Inc. He is responsible for CIBC’s Capital Markets Trading businesses globally, including Fixed Income, Rates, Currencies, Commodities, Equity Derivatives, Structuring, Credit Exposure Management, Quants, Distribution and eCommerce.
Prior to joining CIBC in November 2008, Mr. Exshaw was Managing Director at Merrill Lynch in London responsible for the global foreign exchange and emerging market sales businesses across cash and derivative products. He was also responsible for FX Prime Brokerage and e-commerce. Before joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Exshaw was Managing Director at Dresdner Kleinwort in London where he held a number of senior positions in sales, structuring, e-commerce, high frequency trading, FX prime brokerage and emerging markets businesses. Mr. Exshaw began his career in capital markets as a foreign exchange options trader and structurer.
Mr. Exshaw is a member of CIBC’s Wholesale Banking Management Committee. He graduated from the Université de Toulouse-le-Mirail in France with a degree in economics and econometrics, and from the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises with a Masters of Science degree in Risk Management and Financial Instruments and a Masters in Finance.
